Enrique G. Saucedo (*1971) devotes his attention very consciously to the naturalistic representation and quotes with great virtuosity from a rich fund of portrait painters from the late Renaissance and Baroque periods. He draws on the Old Masters with regard to both content and technique. It would, however, be an over-simplification to call his painting forced baroque. To classify his painting as photo realism would also do his work a great injustice, even though his manner of realistic representation owes a lot to his knowledge of photography.
