In his photographic works his main aim is to capture and hold the instant, in which an inimitable impression of a person can be recorded, a moment in the life, in the history of an individual personality. At the moment of pushing the release René Morales wants to capture the soul of the human persona.

In his paintings René Morales often addresses traditional subjects such as portraits, allegories or still lifes. His work can only be partially described as abstract. It is rather the subject itself, whether human or object, that has a function – less immediate than in photography, but nevertheless at the centre of the picture. René Morales' pictures are impressive, above all, due to the very effective colour nuances and the vividness of the colours, which suggests a source of light within the picture itself.
