1896 Rivera enters in the age of 10 years the Academia de San Carlos
1907 Through his first exhibition Rivera wins a Scholarship to Spain and enters the Academia de San Fernando Travels to France, Netherlands, Belgium and England
1910 Returns to Mexico, exhibition at the Academia de San Carlos, beginn of the Mexican Revolution
1911 Cubist works in Paris
1915 – 1920 Intensiv creative period in Paris, conversations with David Alfaro Siqueiros about the changes in the Mexican art
1922 First murals with a group of artists, amongs others David Alfaro Siqueiros. Begin of the Mexican mural movement. Rivera enters the Mexican Communist Party (CPM)
1927 Invitation to Udssr by the Commission for the Public Education
1928 Divorced his first wife and married Frida Kahlo
1929 Nomination as a director of the Academia de San Carlos
1930 Moved to USA, works on several murals
1933 Mural for the Rockefeller Center in New York. It was removed after a furor erupted over the portrait of Lenin it contained.
1940 – 1957 Several murals in the USA and in Mexico On 24th of Novermber
1957 Rivera dies in Mexico-City.
